How we work

Transparent, predictable, dependable.

No surprises, no fine print. Every step is clearly defined — and you always know where we stand.

01 Day 1

Briefing & role profile

A 60-minute conversation in person — afterwards we know your role, your team, your culture. That becomes the profile we search against.

02 Week 1–3

Candidate sourcing & screening

Active sourcing, matching from our pool and direct approach — we check both technical fit and culture before introducing anyone.

03 Week 3–6

Interviews & selection

We present 3–5 vetted profiles with our recommendation. You run the interviews — we moderate where it helps.

04 Week 6–8

Contract & onboarding

We facilitate negotiation and signing, and stay in touch with both sides during the probation period. Re-placement guaranteed.

Head to head

Phoenix vs. the alternatives.

Why it pays to hand the search to specialists — in numbers and hard criteria.

The cost comparison

What does a hire really cost?

In Munich alone you compete with hundreds of companies for the same specialists on the open job market. The job ad is the smallest item: the real costs sit in your team’s working hours — and in every month the position stays vacant. Set the sliders to your numbers: the calculator itemises every cost and compares doing it yourself honestly with a placement through Phoenix — our fee included.

The position to fill

€100,000

Gross annual salary of the role to be filled. It drives the vacancy costs and the basis of the placement fee.

6 months

From posting to signature. Three to six months are common on the open market — with Phoenix you plan for six to eight weeks.

Your in-house search

10 ads

How often do you post in total? Example: 2 portals × 2 runs = 4 ads — plus renewals when the right application does not come in.

€650

Average price across your portals. A 30-day ad on a major portal easily costs €600–1,200, premium placements more.

120 h

Job profile, writing ads, screening applications, phone interviews, coordination, rejections — 40–80 hours per hire add up quickly.

€65,000

Gross annual salary of the person running the recruiting. The calculator applies +25% employer costs and 1,640 productive hours per year.

25 h

Conducting interviews, preparing and debriefing, aligning — time that does not flow into your core business.

€100,000

Gross annual salary of the manager involved — values their interview and alignment time.

Our assumptions — fully disclosed
  • Full employer costs: gross annual salary + 25% non-wage labour costs, spread over 1,640 productive hours per year.
  • Vacancy costs: the lost value contribution of the unfilled position, deliberately conservative at a factor of 1.0 of the pro-rata annual salary (220 working days/year). HR literature uses factors of 1 to 3 depending on the role.
  • Hiring with Phoenix: six to eight weeks, modelled as 1.75 months (never longer than your in-house duration). Internal effort with Phoenix: 6 hours HR and 10 hours hiring manager for interviews with 3–5 vetted profiles.
  • Not included: cost of a mis-hire, active-sourcing licences, applicant-tracking software and employer branding — all of which would make in-house hiring even more expensive.
  • The calculation runs entirely in your browser; no input is stored or transmitted.

A model calculation with assumptions you control — not an offer and not a price commitment. Actual costs depend on the position, the market and the course of the search. We agree the exact fee transparently in the mandate; it is due exclusively on a successful placement.

Put yourself in the shoes of a qualified professional: would they spend weeks researching employers, write hundreds of applications and go through every process individually? That is exactly why we reach people you can hardly reach on the open market — one application to Phoenix, and we take care of the rest on both sides.

Frequently asked

Answers for decision-makers.

Did not find what you were looking for? Write to us — we respond on working days within 24 hours.

How does the collaboration work?

We start with a personal briefing, define the search profile and then work in regular updates — transparent, predictable, without unnecessary loops.

How long does a placement take on average?

Six to eight weeks from briefing to signing. We present the first matching profiles within the first ten working days — often considerably earlier when the profile fits our active pool.

How large is your talent pool?

More than 4,500 active profiles in Banking & Finance, Legal & Tax and Office — DACH-wide. On top, we use active sourcing and our network of specialists who do not look publicly.

How do you ensure the quality of placements?

We assess every candidate technically and culturally — you only see profiles we consider a fit. If a placement leaves during the probation period, we re-place the role without additional fee.

Where are you based and where do you place?

Our office is in central Munich (Hopfenstraße 8). From there we place DACH-wide — primarily across the German-speaking region. For international roles at German groups, please reach out directly.
